Blake enjoyed another podium finish at Crossbone MX Ranch on Saturday! The days racing combined two MX series in the state, the Central Alabama Motocross Series and the Alabama State Championship Series. This provided an exciting day of racing in all classes!

Blake raced his KLX110 first and got an awesome start! He gated between to Honda CRF100′s and after launching out of the gate the two Honda’s got loose and sandwiched Blake in. He’d have won the holeshot if he didn’t have to let off to keep from being wrecked by these two riders. Blake held the 2nd place position in the race for a majority of the race until getting loose in some sand and dropping to third. He held on to finish in third and beat a handful of more experienced riders in the first moto. Then, in the 2nd moto his start wasn’t as good and he passed several riders to fight for 5th place. He chased the 4th place rider the entire race and got close on several occasions but wasn’t able to make the pass. Blake finished 4th overall and his good friend Cody finished 3rd overall. Not a bad showing considering this was only Blake’s 2nd time racing his KLX110.

Blake’s 65cc 7-9 class race was packed! There were 14 riders in this class and it made for an interesting set of motos. In the first moto, Blake got a great start (the best on his 65 so far) and his friend Cody who gated next to him popped a wheelie and landed on Blake, bringing them both to the ground. After the dads’ untangled the bikes they were off again. Blake took a couple more spills before that moto was over, but fought hard and made up a lot of ground. In the 2nd moto Blake got a clean start and rode much better than the first moto. He hit jumps harder, railed the turns, and had an amazing 2nd moto. He really began getting used to the powerband and suspension of his KX65.
